Earth science geeky warning time:

3.7 quake in New Mexico yesterday, away from the usual fault lines.

3.6 in Illinois today, presumably an aftershock from the April 18 quake.

5.3 aftershock in China. Death toll there is up to 69k+.

5.4 in Peru.

Earthquake Preparedness Guide. Quakes are not like hurricanes, snowstorms, or even tornadoes; you don't always get warning. Don't assume you're safe just because you're not on a major fault, either--they can happen wherever.
